Booking software for recording studios
Superspace lets artists and producers see when your recording studio is free, book a session and pay in naira before they arrive, with an engineer or extra gear added at checkout. Every room, session and payment sits on one calendar, for a flat monthly fee.
Recording sessions run long, start late and overrun. The money is lost in the gaps: the session promised in two chats, the engineer who was not on the invoice, the overtime nobody agreed to. For how to price those extras, see pricing extras: engineer, gear and overtime.
Where the hours get lost
- The same night promised twice. Bookings agreed in DMs, on calls and in person never meet in one place, so the booth gets promised to two artists.
- Engineer time that goes unbilled. The room has a rate, but the engineer, the mix and the extra mic are agreed verbally and forgotten when it is time to pay.
- Sessions too short to be worth it. An hour in the booth barely covers setup. Without a minimum, short bookings crowd out full sessions.
- Payment after the session. “I'll send it tonight” is the most expensive sentence in a studio. Collecting after the session means collecting sometimes.
How Superspace runs recording studios
One calendar for every room
The booth, the control room and the live room each have their own rates and hours, on one calendar every booking checks against, online or at the desk. See Use the calendar.
Engineer and mixing as add-ons
List an engineer, a mixing session or a mic package as a priced add-on, so it is chosen and paid with the booking. See Add-ons and equipment packages.
Minimum session length
Set a minimum and maximum session per room. Artists who try to book less see the rule before they pay. See Set booking rules and guest capacity.
Approve first, or book instantly
Use instant book for routine sessions, or review each booking request first. Requests carry a response countdown so nobody waits days. See Instant Book vs booking requests.
Paid when they book
Artists pay the full amount in naira as part of booking. For sessions you agree in person, send a payment link attached to the booking. See Send a payment link.
Block your own time
Hold the room for your own productions, maintenance or a closed session, and it stops showing as free. See Block time on your calendar.

Common questions
How do recording studios take bookings online?
With a booking page that shows live availability per room, applies a minimum session length and takes payment as part of booking. The artist picks the hours and pays; the session lands on the studio's calendar with the payment attached.
Can I charge for the engineer separately from the room?
Yes. In Superspace the engineer can be a priced add-on the artist chooses at checkout, so the booking total includes both the room hours and the engineer.
Can I approve sessions before they are confirmed?
Yes. Set a room to booking requests and each one waits for you to accept or decline, with a countdown showing how long you have to respond. Other rooms can stay on instant book.
Does Superspace take a cut of each session?
No. Superspace charges a flat monthly fee and no percentage of bookings. The payment provider charges its own processing fee.
