What is a minimum booking length?

Also called: Minimum hours, Minimum booking

A minimum booking length is the shortest time a customer can book a space for, such as two hours, set so that short bookings still cover the cost of opening and cleaning.

Every booking has fixed costs regardless of length: setting up, cleaning, power, staff time. A minimum stops a one-hour booking from costing more than it earns, and stops a calendar filling with gaps too short to sell.

Minimums are often longer at busy times. A studio might take one-hour bookings on weekdays and four-hour minimums on Saturdays.

ExampleA studio charges ₦10,000 an hour with a two-hour minimum. A customer who wants 45 minutes books two hours and pays ₦20,000.

How Superspace handles it

In Superspace you set a minimum and maximum booking length and a maximum number of guests for each space, and customers cannot book outside them. On Growth and above, peak pricing rules can set a different minimum on chosen days. See Set booking rules and guest capacity.
