What happens when a booking request expires?
Booking requests have a response deadline. If it passes before you accept or decline, the request expires.
In this article
What you'll see
- The booking's status changes to Expired, and it moves to the History tab of Bookings.
- Its details page shows Response time expired and when the request lapsed.
- Accept and Decline are no longer available.
- If the guest had paid, their payment is refunded in full automatically, back through Paystack.
What you can do
An expired request can't be revived. If you still want to host the customer, contact them — their details are on the booking — and create a new booking for them at the POS. See Create a POS booking.
How to avoid it
- Keep booking notifications on. See Manage notification preferences.
- Check Needs attention on your dashboard and the Requests tab regularly.
- Watch the countdown on each request.
- Consider Instant Book for spaces where you don't need to approve each booking. See Instant Book vs booking requests.
