Verify your identity (KYC)
Identity verification — also called KYC — confirms who you are. It's required to start your free trial, publish your spaces, accept payments, add a payout account and invite your team.
Before you begin
- Your legal name exactly as it appears on your NIN record.
- Your date of birth.
- A phone number you can receive a verification code on.
- Your 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN). You can dial
*346#to retrieve it. - Your residential address.
- If verifying as a business: your business name and CAC registration number exactly as they appear on your CAC registration.

Start verification
On your dashboard, next to Verify your identity in the setup tracker, select Verify. You'll see the Verify your account to Go Live screen.
Enter your personal details
- Under I'm verifying as, choose An individual or A business.
- Enter your First name and Last name, and your middle name if you have one, as they appear on your NIN. Superspace pre-fills these from your account, so check they match exactly.
- Enter your Date of birth.
- Enter your phone number and verify it with the code Superspace sends you.
- Enter your 11-digit NIN.
- Start typing your residential address and choose it from the suggestions, or type it in full.
- If you're verifying as an individual, select Submit for verification. If you're verifying as a business, select Continue.
Add your business details (businesses only)
- Enter your Business name as registered with the CAC.
- Enter your CAC registration number. It must start with RC (company), BN (business name) or IT (incorporated trustees) — for example RC100001.
- Select Submit for verification.
When your details are submitted, you'll see Verification submitted and return to your dashboard.
Common validation messages
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Please verify your phone number with the code we send you | Complete the phone verification before submitting. |
| Please enter a valid 11-digit NIN | Your NIN must be exactly 11 digits. |
| Invalid CAC number | Check that the number starts with RC, BN or IT. |
| Missing information | A required field is empty — the message names it. |
While your verification is in review
- Your dashboard shows Your account is being verified, and the tracker shows the verification step as in review.
- Your details are checked automatically against official identity records: your NIN, your BVN if you gave one, and your CAC registration for a business. If the check can't be completed at that moment, it's retried automatically, or you'll be asked to resubmit.
- You can already create your first space. It's saved, ready to go live once you're approved.
- We'll email you when you're approved.
