What is a point of sale (POS)?
Also called: POS, Front-desk booking
A point of sale (POS) for a space is where staff create a booking on a customer's behalf, at the front desk, on the phone or from a chat, and take payment for it.
In retail a POS sells products. For a bookable space it books time: the customer, the space, the hours, any extras, and the payment, in one flow.
Its job is to make offline bookings identical to online ones, so the calendar, the customer record and the money are all in the same place.
How Superspace handles it
Superspace POS books a space for a walk-in or phone customer in three steps: booking details, add-ons and equipment, then payment by payment link or virtual account. The booking goes on the same calendar as online bookings. See What is the POS?.
Common questions
Do I need a POS terminal for Superspace POS?
No. Superspace POS is a screen in your dashboard. The customer pays with a payment link or a bank transfer to a virtual account, not a card terminal.
