What is a booking reminder?

Also called: Appointment reminder

A booking reminder is a message sent to a customer before their booking, usually a day ahead, to confirm the time and place and reduce no-shows.

Reminders are the cheapest way to cut no-shows and late arrivals. A good one repeats the date, time and address, says how to get in, and gives a way to cancel or reschedule if plans have changed.

Sending them by hand works for five bookings a week. Past that, they get forgotten on exactly the busy days that need them most.

How Superspace handles it

Superspace emails customers a confirmation when they book and a reminder about 24 hours before, with a cancellation link where the booking can still be cancelled. After the visit it asks for a review. Nothing to set up, on every plan. See Automatic reminders and review requests.

Common questions

When should a booking reminder be sent?

About a day before is the most common choice: late enough to be remembered, early enough for the customer to cancel or reschedule in time for you to rebook the slot.
