What is payment reconciliation?
Also called: Payment matching, Reconciliation
Payment reconciliation is matching each payment received to the booking or invoice it is for, so you know what has been paid, by whom and what is still owed.
Done by hand it means checking bank alerts against a spreadsheet and chasing screenshots. It gets harder with every booking and every staff member who takes payments.
It is easiest when payment is created from the booking: a checkout during booking, a payment link for that booking or a virtual account for it. Then there is nothing to match afterwards.

How Superspace handles it
Every payment in Superspace is tied to its booking. The rare payment that cannot be matched, for example because the booking expired first, appears as an unapplied payment, which you link to a booking or refund. See Handle unapplied payments.
Common questions
How do I stop asking customers for proof of payment?
Take payment in a way that is tied to the booking: at checkout on your booking page, by a payment link for that booking or by a dedicated virtual account.
